Floor refinish and coating with metallic epoxy
Duraamen Case Study - Surface Preparation and Metallic Epoxy Installation
When New World Stages discovered it was having problems with their flooring in Level 1, below the ground level, they were not impressed and unsure as to the reasoning. The floors was supposed to have been leveled and smoothed with a self level concrete and then subsequently coated with some sort of high quality epoxy paint. The floor epoxy paint was peeling up and chipping in many different places. The floor was recoated at one point, but even the second coat was failing and leaving an unsightly awful looking floor.
Another issue that was discovered was the self leveling underlayment initially installed was soft. After a thorough inspection by Duraamen Products and Expert installer Mirage Studios they determined the floor needed a complete overhaul in order to eliminate future issues.
Duraamen recommended a proper surface preparation which involved shot blasting and then treating the surface with Perdure MVT+, moisture vapor treatment that will withstand any amount of water vapor pressure; after applying the Perdure MVT+, Lumiere metallic epoxy flooring was installed and the result was a completely new, top of line functional floor finish.
