A Kitchen Makeover done with a small budget and a lot of elbow grease.

Starting From Scratch

When Victor D and Wife decided it was time to totally renovate the kitchen of their new fixer upper home (to say the least), budget was an issue but time was on their side. Understanding some construction Victor decided to go in alone for most of the construction and renovate the entire kitchen space.

After removing all of the old kitchen counters, tearing out a wall and re-doing the floor with travertine, and having selected the cabinets, it was now time to decide on the counters.

After much thought and investigation, it was concrete that made the most sense. Victor wanted a contemporary look that would hold up to his entertaining ways as well as be cost effective and original.

By keeping the design simple square without fancy edge details and complicated insets he avoided extra expenses thereby keeping the cost down.

After being fabricated off site the counters were installed on the cabinets and for only 45$ per square foot. Almost half of what a honed gray granite would cost to match the color and style.

You can see by the photos the project was a success and this kitchen makeover was right on budget!
