- Acid Stained Concrete
Acid Stain:
Chem-Stone™ Reactive Stain creates a mottled, uneven, translucent coloration effect on cementitious surfaces such as concrete overlays and conventional concrete.Color is achieved when the combination of metallic salts and slightly acidic solution come in contact and react with the minerals in concrete. This color reaction results in a look so unique that it cannot be duplicated by other coloring methods (View Colors).
Unlike paint, Chem-Stone™ Reactive Stain is not a coating or film build resin. Therefore, the color becomes a permanent part of the surface which will not chip, flake or peel and only wears when the concrete surface wears.
Dyes:
Hydra-Stone™ Dye Stain creates translucent coloring effects. Elegant, distinctive, and lasting, the look is ideal for exterior architectural concrete surfaces as well as interior floors and walls.
Surfaces colored with Hydra-Stone™ Dye Stain offer the unique appearance of those from ancient times yet offer the design, appeal, and elegance modern designers want (View Colors).

Thin-stamp Overlay:
Thin-stamped overlays are one of the most sought after applications in the commercial and residential markets today.Thin-Stamped overlays are designed and engineered to create the authentic and natural look and feel of stone, slate, brick, and tile. Concrete Effects achieves these results with Texture-Pave™ and stamps. We can use any of the following stamps: old granite, stone slate, sandstone, coquina, italian slate, canyon stone, sandstone, cobblestone, roman slate, brick basket weave and more (View Texture Skins). Texture-Pave™ is installed at only 1/4" to existing concrete surfaces and eliminates the cost, hassle and downtime of tearing out and replacing the existing concrete.
Sprayed & Troweled:
Spray or Trowel down finishes are perhaps the most widely installed applications primarily due to the combination of versatility in color and pattern (View Colors).Ideal for commercial and residential applications such as driveways, parking garages, sidewalks, patios and especially pool decks, spray and trowel down finishes also offer the added bonus of providing safe skid resistance where chance of rain or sprinklers is applicable.
Achieved with Thin-Finish™, spray and trowel down finishes were originally designed and engineered to restore surface deteriorated and stained concrete surfaces with a new, yet skid resistant finish, thus eliminating the cost, hassle and downtime of tearing out and replacing the existing concrete substrate.

About Concrete Effects
Concrete Effects is the leading installer of Elite Crete Systems products in Arizona. This product is a hybrid-polymer modified concrete overlay that is used on both new and old concrete.
Concrete Effects can apply this product in various textures and colors which provide the look and feel of tile, stone, marble, terrazzo, and brick, but at a more competitive price.
ConcreteEffects is a factory authorized installer of Elite Crete Systems™ products. Below are the steps we follow to ensure that their products are installed correctly:
- Surface Preparation - This is a critical element of a successful job. To ensure the product will adhere to the concrete, we repair cracks, pressure wash, acid etch, neutralize, and rinse.
- Installation of Base Materials
- For thin-stamp overlay projects we install a skim coat of Thin-Finish™, a bond coat of Thin-Finish™, and then a 1/4 inch think coat of Texture-Pave™. We then stamp the Texture-Pave™.
- For spray down projects we install a skim coat of Thin-Finish™, apply stencil or hand taped pattern, and then a texture coat of Thin-Finish™ applied with a hopper gun.
- For trowel down projects we install a skim coat of Thin-Finish™, apply stencil or hand taped pattern, and then a texture coat of Thin-Finish™ applied with a trowel.
- Finishing Touches - We use a coloring product that is unique to the market called Ultra-Stone™. Ultra-Stone™ is a waterborne emulsion based stain that carries Portion Control Colorant™ to create a translucent and aged appearance on any textured finish.
- Project Completion - We seal multiple times with CSS or WCS Emulsion™, apply wax products if indoors, thoroughly clean up work area, and give instructions to client on the care and maintenance of their new surface.
