Caring for Polished Concrete Flooring
- blog_categories:
Most of the time, the only thing that you will have to do to care for your polished concrete floor is simply clean it with a damp mop. Keep in mind that using astringents or harsh chemicals can damage or strip away the protective coating. Any protective wax or other type of coating will likely need to be replaced from time to time, either annually or semi-annually. The remaining wax or coating will be removed and then a new fresh coating will be applied to keep the underlying concrete surface in excellent condition.
If you need to do some deep down cleaning or remove a stain, then you should opt for the products that were recommended by your flooring contractor when it was installed. If you have any questions at all, you should discuss them with the contractor at the time of installation to be safe.
If you must repair your polished concrete flooring for any reason, it is easier and safer to call an experienced contractor who can assess the damage and tell you the best repair method for your situation. In addition to repairs, a good flooring company can also remodel or remake your concrete flooring so that it looks bright and new again. Because concrete is so long lasting and durable, some people may choose to have their concrete floors reworked so that they can take advantage of a whole new look.
